PORTLAND, Ore. – Guests for episode 48 of GNAC Insider included Western Oregon men’s basketball coach Brady Bergeson, Central Washington freshman guard Jasmin Edwards and Western Washington head track and field coach Pee Wee Halsell.

The WOU men's basketball team is on pace to finish with its best record under Bergeson in 2015. With a 13-3 overall record and a 5-1 conference record, Western Oregon finds themselves atop the GNAC standings having beaten other top teams such as Central Washington and Alaska Anchorage. Coach Bergeson talked about his impact players and what’s making his team so successful at this point in the season.

Edwards is one of the Wildcats top scorers as true freshman. Her 13.5 points per game leads all freshman GNAC scorers and ranks second on the Wildcats behind senior Courtney Johnson. She leads the conference in minutes played and her 4.1 assists per game ranks sixth in the GNAC. Edwards has helped lead the Wildcats to an 8-6 overall record having already won more conference games than the Wildcats did all of last season. Edwards discussed how she is adapting to college play in her freshman year.

Halsell is in his 28th year coaching indoor and outdoor track, along with cross country, for the Vikings. Western Washington and six other GNAC indoor track and field teams will compete at the University of Washington Indoor Preview at Dempsey Indoor Pavilion Saturday. GNAC teams will be competing against Division I programs along with other regional colleges and universities. Halsell helped preview this event and shed light about his team for the 2015 indoor track season.
