SEATTLE - The 2014 Women in Sports Career Seminar, hosted by the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, took place Saturday inside the Washington Convention and Trade Center.

College-level women interested in pursuing a career in athletics assembled to network and gain career advice from current female athletics professionals. A variety of individuals - including those working in both collegiate and professional sports - served on four separate panels which each focused on a different aspect of sports.

Panels included Coaching, Internal Operations, External Operations and Athletics Administration, and attendees had the opportunity to listen to each panel in a series of four sessions.

Seminar attendees also had the opportunity to participate in a networking session, interacting on a one-on-one basis with one another and the various panelists featured at the event.

Keynote speaker Kimberly Ford, the Director of Minority Inclusion for the NCAA, welcomed attendees with a keynote speech. "One of the best parts of my job is that I have the opportunity to attend conferences throughout the year," Ford said during her welcoming invocation. "Laying out a roadmap for yourself will help you to have a planned direction and a path as you travel towards your career."

Several graduate schools featured informational booths at the event as well, encouraging participants to inquire about potential post-graduate career programs.
