PORTLAND, Ore. – Episode 29 of GNAC Insider is now available as a free podcast via iTunes, and it features a full slate of Great Northwest Athletic Conference spring sports guests.

Joining host Kevin Young on the latest program were Western Oregon baseball coach Kellen Walker, Western Washington men’s golf head coach Luke Bennett, and Central Washington softball player Maria Gau.

Walker and the Wolves are in first place in the GNAC baseball standings and most recently won three out of four road games against Montana State Billings. Walker discussed his team’s upcoming road trip against Northwest Nazarene as WOU prepares to make a run towards the 2014 GNAC Championship tournament in May.

Bennett’s Vikings are getting set to head into the GNAC Golf Championships, beginning next week at the Coeur d’Alene Resort April 21-22. The first year coach provided his perspective on the conference field, and commented on the play of the five golfers he will bring to the championships.

Gau was recently named Red Lion Pitcher of the Week, and Central Washington earned GNAC Team of the Week honors after winning all six of its conference softball games last week. Gau provided insight on the Wildcats’ current six-game winning streak, and gave a preview of the upcoming GNAC Softball Championship in Richland, Wash., running May 1-3.

Next week's edition of GNAC Insider will air live on Wednesday, May 23, at 7 p.m. Pacific time following the GNAC Golf Championships. The program is produced by the conference office in conjunction with Soundbrook, and all episodes become available as free podcasts via iTunes, and for archived listening via the GNAC Stretch Internet portal.
