PORTLAND, Ore. - Kishia Mitchell, who led Seattle Pacific to two national qualifying relay performances Saturday at the University of Washington's Ken Shannon Invitational, has been selected the GNAC Red Lion Women's Track Athlete of the Week.

She is one of seven athletes to earn GNAC Red Lion honors for the Week of April 29-May 5.

Men’s Track and Field:  Track – Isaac Kangogo, Alaska Anchorage (So., Eldoret, AK) posted a provisional national qualifying time of 3:50.59 – the 10th fastest in GNAC history – in the Oxy Invitational Saturday.  Field -  Sam Washington, Saint Martin’s (Sr., Tacoma, WA) and Michael Davis, Saint Martin’s (So. Seattle, WA) … Washington won the shot put at the UW Ken Shannon Invitational by more than three feet with a provisional national qualifying mark of 52-8 ¼.    Washington will head to the GNAC meet Friday as the No. 1 seed.  Davis tripled jumped 48-7 ¼, improving his NCAA provisional and career best by six inches and moving into fourth place on the GNAC All-Time Top 10 list. 

Women’s Track and Field:  Track – Kishia Mitchell, Seattle Pacific (Jr., Puyallup, WA) was part of two NCAA provisional qualifying relay teams, one of which was a school record setter at Saturday's Ken Shannon Invitational. First, she anchored the 4x100 relay that won in 46.91 seconds, missing the GNAC record by .01 seconds.  BryAnne Wochnick, Ali Worthen  and Tasia Baldwin ran the first three legs. Their time broke the 17-year-old mark of 47.00, which that same foursome tied on April 20 at the Beach Invitational. Later, Mitchell ran the leadoff leg on the 4x400 relay, as SPU not only got onto the national list, it jumped all the way into the No. 10 spot with a 3:43.44. Emily Quatier, Jasmine Johnson, and McKayla Fricker ran the next three legs. Field – Becki Duhamel, Central Washington (Jr., Wenatchee) earned a provisional national qualifying mark in the hammer at UW with a throw of 171-11.  That’s the sixth longest throw in GNAC history.

Baseball:  Player – Bobby Twedt, Saint Martin’s (2B, 5-11, 185, Sr., Mount Vernon, WA) collected six hits in 12 at bats, scored four runs and drove in three as the Saints won three of four games with Northwest Nazarene almost doubling their season conference win total.  Twedt, who also drew three walks and had a .583 slugging percentage and a .625 on-base percentage in the series. Pitcher – AJ Burke, Western Oregon (6-3, 210, Sr., Hillsboro, OR – Glencoe & Linn-Benton) blanked Central Washington on four hits in a 9-0 win.  Burke didn't walk anyone and struck out nine.
