PORTLAND, Ore. - Basketball players Riley Stockton of Seattle Pacific and Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe of Simon Fraser were among 12 athletes earning Red Lion GNAC Player of the Week honors for the period ending March 3:

The honorees included:

Men’s Basketball: Riley Stockton, Seattle Pacific (G, 6-4, 200, So., Spokane, WA - Ferris) scored 19 points and also had 19 rebounds, 11 assists and just two turnovers and also played stellar defense as the Falcons swept Alaska Anchorage and Alaska Fairbanks.  Stockton finished the regular season as the conference leader in rebounds, averaging 7.6 per game.  He also ended up seventh in assists (3.8) and third in assist/turnover ratio (2.8).  Honorable Mention - Roger O’Neill, Saint Martin’s; Mark McLaughlin, Central Washington; Kenny Jones, Northwest Nazarene; Paul Jones, Western Washington.

Women’s Basketball:  Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe, Simon Fraser (F, 6-2, Sr., Toronto, ON) scored 41 points and had 23 rebounds as the Clan rolled to road wins at Western Oregon and Saint Martin’s. She missed just six shots converting on 16 of 22 raising her GNAC career-record percentage to 60.5 percent.  Honorable Mention - Megan Hingston, Northwest Nazarene; Bobbi Knudsen, Montana State Billings; Janiel Olson, Montana State Billings; Krista Stabler, Saint Martin’s.

Baseball: Player - Kyle Sani, Central Washington (C, 6-1, 240, Sr., Kennewick, WA) had five hits in 13 at bats and drove in seven runs as Wildcats opened their conference season winning three of four games at Northwest Nazarene. Sani had three RBI in 4-2 win in opening game of series, snapping a 1-1 tie with a two-run home run in the sixth inning. Pitcher - Joe Andriolo, Montana State Billings (6-0, 185, Jr., Helena, MT) pitched a three-hitter in a 5-1 win at Western Oregon.  He walked four and fanned nine in the nine-inning contest.  Honorable Mention – Brendan Jeffers, Saint  Martin’s; Chandler Tracy, Saint Martin’s; Matt Nylen, Western Oregon; Spenser Watkins, Western Oregon; Randy Button, Central Washington.

Softball: Player – Amanda Evola, Western Oregon (OF, 5-7, So., Beaverton, OR) had eight hits in 13 at bats, including a pair of doubles and a pair of home runs as the Wolves split four games, losing twice to Corban before sweeping Concordia.  Evola, who drove in four runs and scored four, posted a 1.231 slugging average.  Pitcher – Amanda Todd, Montana State Billings (5-5, Jr., Billings, MT) made her season debut tossing a three-hit shutout in a 4-0 shutout of Northwest Nazarene.  Todd didn’t walk a batter and fanned 10 in the win.  Honorable Mention – Rose Harrington, Montana State Billings; Madi Davis, Saint Martin’s; Sam Munger, Saint Martin’s.

Men’s Track & Field:  Track – Kody Rhodes, Western Oregon (Jr., Wilsonville, OR) won the 110-meter hurdles (14.93) and 400-meter hurdles (55.03) at the Willamette Opener.  His time in the shorter event missed breaking into the GNAC All-Time Top 10 by .01 seconds.  Field – Shane Brooks, Western Oregon (Fr., Pleasant Hill, OR) won the javelin at Willamette with a NCAA provisional national qualifying mark of 203-11.  Brooks and teammate Justin Larson, who also posted a PNQ of 202-1, became the 12th and 13th athletes in GNAC history to throw 200 feet.  Brooks’ mark ranks eighth on the GNAC all-time list.

Women’s Track & Field:  Track -  Madison McClung, Western Oregon (Jr., Cottage Grove, OR) captured the 100 meter (12.28) and 200 meter (25.66) titles at the Willamette Opener in grabbing the GNAC opening weekend lead in both events.  Field – Ali Worthen, Seattle Pacific (Sr., Coos Bay, OR – Marshfield) assured herself of a berth in next May’s NCAA Division II national meet posting  an automatic national qualifying score of 5,243 points in winning the Chico State Multi-Event Classic.  Worthen’s score was just 54 points shy of her career high of 5,297 points.  Honorable Mention – Amanda Schumaker, Western Oregon.

Men’s Golf: Nick Hardy, Northwest Nazarene (Sr., Edmonds, WA – King’s) had solid rounds of 73 and 72 before winds sent the scores sailing for most ot the golfers in the Cal State San Bernardino Coyote Classic in the third round.  Hardy finished with a 54-hole total of 223, placing 23rd out of 78 players.

Women’s Golf:  Anna Bourland, Western Washington (So., Bainbridge, WA) finished 13th out of 60 golfers to lead the Vikings to a seventh place team finish in the Cal State East Bay Pioneer Shootout.  Bourland finished with a 36-hole total of 164, shooting rounds of 80 and 84.
