PORTLAND, Ore. – Leading all players with a 4.00-grade point average as a business administration major, Saint Martin's senior Ryan Dorney leads the selections to the 2019 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Baseball All-Academic Team.

Dorney, a right-handed pitcher, is one of 11 Saints to receive the prestigious honor. The senior has had a standout season in Lacey, ranking second on the team in wins (3), earned run average (3.09) and saves (1). He is one of 53 players named to the All-Academic squad.

In all, there are nine selections to this year's team with a GPA higher than 3.80. Dorney is joined by Central Washington juniors Jaden Hassell (3.87 in information tech & administration management) and Yi-An Pan (3.85 in accounting); Concordia seniors Isaiah Hatch (3.93 in business) and Jacob Roes (3.95 in business); Montana State Billings seniors Steen Fredrickson (3.80 in business administration: finance) and Jared Winslow (3.94 in health/human performance) and junior Sam Muskat (3.96 in political science); and Northwest Nazarene junior Ben Johnson (3.97 in biology: pre-medicine).

A total of 19 players were repeat selections to the team, with six earning their third All-Academic honors. The group of three-time honorees are Fredrickson, Winslow, Concordia senior Justin Taylor, Montana State Billings senior Matt Dillon and Saint Martin's seniors Austin Feist and Luke Hare

Northwest Nazarene leads all teams with 12 selections. Saint Martin's is second on the list with 11 honorees while Concordia and Montana State Billings each saw nine players named to the squad.

To be selected for the GNAC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must be of sophomore standing or better, have a 3.20 cumulative grade point average or better and be in at least their second season at the nominating institution.
