In the second set Geary had three of her five kills in a 4-2 run to break a 21-21 tie and close out the frame.

Women's Soccer: Falcons Close Season With Victory

Jenkins
Kelsey Jenkins scored twice and assisted on a third goal as Seattle Pacific won its ninth straight game ending the regular season with a 4-2 home victory over Central Washington Saturday.

The 12th-ranked Falcons (16-2) finished with a 13-1 league record to easily capture the GNAC's automatic berth in the NCAA playoffs.

Montana State Billings (11-3-4, 8-2-4) defeated Northwest Nazarene 4-0 Saturday to slip past Central Washington (9-5-4, 8-4-2) and finish in a tie for second place with Western Washington (10-5-3, 9-4-1), dropping the Wildcats to fourth.

The 48-team NCAA Division II championship field will be announced Monday at 4 p.m. SPU hopes to receive one of the Top 2 seeds in the West Region and the accompanying home field advantage and first-round bye.

Jenkins did her part to secure a high seed netting the game-winner at 71:25 on a 19-yard free kick from the center of the field directing a shot into the lower left corner.

The senior midfielder found the back of the net 10 minutes later with a 17-yard blast from the left side of the box that caromed off the right post on its way in at 81:08.

Megan Lindsay assisted on the final goal. She also played a part in back-to-back SPU goals that occurred 21 seconds apart.

Lindsay sent a pass to freshman Riley Dopps who flipped the ball around the goalkeeper before finding the open net from 15 yards out at 36:24.

At 36:45, Lindsay sent a low drive that nicked off a CWU defender before traveling into the lower right of the goal.

The Wildcats took the lead at 3:08 on a seven-yard header by Kelsy Villegas off a corner kick from Hadli Farrand.

After the two quick SPU strikes, Carson McKole equalized for Central at 40:19, making the score 2-2 at halftime. Amy Pate sent a low pass from the right side that McKole tapped in at the left post from six yards away.

Montana State Billings scored two goals 30 seconds apart in the first half in defeating Northwest Nazarene in a game which started two hours and 20 minutes late in order to clear the field of snow and finished with snow once again covering the surface.

Heidi Greenback got the first goal after taking a through ball from Jaucelyn Richter at 37:08. Thirty seconds later Greenback assisted Richter, tying the school record for the shortest time between goals.

Richter made it 3-0 at 50:38 with her 11th goal of the season. Amanda Brusic, who also had two assists, completed the scoring at 55:39 as Jennifer Brookshire and Greenback earned assists.

Men's Soccer: Seattle Pacific Edges Saint Martin's 1-0

Schultz
Tyler Schultz scored his league-leading 15th goal in the eighth minute Saturday leading 23rd-ranked Seattle Pacific to a 1-0 victory over Saint Martin's in the final regular-season men's soccer game at Interbay Stadium.

The Falcons (13-3-2, 7-2-1) registered their most victories in in six seasons since posting 15 wins in 2005.

Saturday may not have been the final Interbay Stadium appearance of the year for the Falcons. They were listed No. 1 in this week's West Region rankings and will host two rounds of NCAA Division II tournament games if they remain in that spot.

The 32-team playoff field will be announced Monday at 4 p.m. and five-time national champion SPU seeks its first invitation since 2006.

Schultz received a pass from Blaine Carver inside the box and slipped a 10-yard shot into the lower right of the Saints goal at 7:38.

That was the eighth game-winning goal this season for the senior midfielder and the 15th of his career.

Goalkeeper Zach Johnson stopped two shots to preserve his 11th shutout. JJ Olson made four saves for Saint Martin's (5-11-2, 4-5-1), which was outshot 20-6.

In a non-conference game, Simon Fraser (17-0-1) blanked Sioux Falls, S.D. 3-0 in a game played in very strong winds.

“I am very proud of the lads for battling through the weather elements to earn a big result on the road,” SFU head coach Alan Koch said.

The USF defense held its own against the top scoring offense in NCAA DII until the 38th minute, when Carlo Basso found space inside the box and finished far post to give the SFU a 1-0 lead.

Cougar keeper Adam Wemhoff made two point-blank saves after the Basso strike to keep the score 1-0 until halftime.

The Clan, which outshot USF 9-0 in the first period, extended its lead to 2-0 in the 49th minute when forward Farhad Abdulgani one-timed a shot off a cross from teammate Juan Sanchez.

In the 61st minute, SFU, which finished with a 17-6 shot advantage, was the beneficiary of an own goal by USF to make it 3-0. Simon Fraser completes its season Sunday playing Fort Hays State in a neutral site contest.

The Vikings, who trailed only in the first minute, led by 13 (39-26) at halftime.  Wilkins scored 12 of his points in the second half as WWU built its lead to as many as 18 (68-50) with 7:02 to go. UCSD never got closer than 10 after that.

Saint Martin's held nationally 11th ranked Washburn to a 28.1 percent shooting percentage (18-64), but managed just a 27.1 percentage (13-48) on its own and had 11 more turnovers (18-7) in its loss.
